fertile and growing?

And I forgot to mention that a lot of the time the air cell is right in the middle of the fat end, with no slant at all. By day 14, you should see a slant, at day 18 when you quit turning the slant should be really evident, and most of the time the chick will pip right at the spot closest to the middle of the egg.

ok thank you. i have got eggs with the air cell in the middle of the egg. thought they weren't good for incubating so thanks for telling me the right information. that was not meant to be rude if it was.

I had two eggs from my chickens with what looked like an air cell on the side of the egg, that rolled around inside. Those were rotten eggs.

so it is better if they have the air cell in the middle? my chicken peeps lays eggs with air cells to the side most of the time.

It's "better" if they are on the big end, but that's not to say they can't hatch, it's just more likely they will hatch when they are on the big end.

they are on the big end it is just tilted more then in the middle
