Hello Guys!
Just got a rooster the other Day. I don't really know why, but I did anyway. How long will it be before my hens begin to start producing fertile eggs?
Does it depend on whether they get along ok. They seem to be fine so far.

Thanks.

Haven't seen it breeding yet.
Got it yesterday.

Ok just keep an eye out for it, and then when you see it happening wait 3 to 4 day's and then they should be fertile. Crack an egg open to check though to be sure if you are planning on incubating some.

Once they start producing fertile will that mean that 90% of the eggs then onwards will be fertile? As in, how often will they breed?

My rooster breeds all of my hens, so all of them have been fertile. You only have 4 hens, right? I would think they should all be fertile.
My boys mate each one at least once a day, that I’ve seen. Probably two or three times on some girls.
