Just to satisfy my curiosity is there any way possible a newly laid egg can be looked at while beinf candled and know the eggs have been fertilized. Would think it would take at least 2 to 3 days of incubation to start to see indicators of it being fertilized with certainty

Yeah you might have to kind of guess before days 4-7 when you can start to see something

LOL that's where I do have to kind of chuckle when I read about the fertilized chicken eggs for sale in eBay

If you've got a rooster, and you've confirmed fertility on other eggs, you can safely assume that the rest are also fertile :) A hen can be fertile from just one mating for up to three weeks.

You can't tell by candling, but you could always crack one and look for a bullseye. If you're just curious if they're fertile thats the best way to check.

well I don't want to destroy any eggs look for the bullseye and I was just curious I've had roosters and chickens get together I know the roosters know their job very well lol
