My gut feeling is that none of these are fertile but I'm hoping one of you with more experience sees something I dont!

Thank in advance! We're eager to get our first incubation going.

If you want to know for sure, start incubating them. Should know something for sure in about four days after candling. Unless you are squeamish about stopping incubation at that point.

I would venture to say yes, but if you cracked these eggs right after you collected them, leave them at room temp for a day or two before you do a fertility check. The more cells there are, the better the accuracy, and at room temps they continue to divide until they reach a holding pattern stage.

Hi, my first egg incubation that I ever did was with eggs like yours, and none of mine hatched. I don't think your rooster is mature yet, because none of them look fertile. That white spot on your eggs is almost like a "Fools" spot. The white spot you want to look for is a bullseye.

I hope this helps :) By the way, how old is your roo?, or cockerel?

xs 2 I agree with Walnut and would say yes as well. The bullseye isn't really pronounced yet, but it looks more than just the unfertilized blastodisc.

Thanks for the advice! You all are great! I've got some eggs saved up to let sit and will check again in a day or so. The ones we had for breakfast this morning looked more promising so that's a good thing too.

Our rooster is 8 months old. So are the girls.

Thanks again!

Well your rooster should start fertilizing them all any time now! :love I hope you have a good hatch. It's so much fun! Trust me. :p Have fun with your flock. ;)
