Fertile or not?

Just an optical illusion due to displaced yolk around the blastodisc. If you have to look that hard, it's a pretty safe bet the egg isn't fertile. The bullseye on a fertile egg is very clearly obvious.

Could be. I'm not an expert but have a little experience checking my own eggs. I've seen eggs with very obvious bullseyes and some with very subtle bullseyes which I believed were fertile since I incubated and hatched the next egg to come from the laying pullet.

If it were fertile, you wouldn't have to emphasize it to make sure.

The point of altering the photo was that photos often aren't as clear as real objects. The egg might have been more obviously fertile or infertile but the photo didn't show it well and the OP wasn't sure what to look for.

I just pop my eggs in the incubator or under my Chickens Hens and I get Chicks and Ducklings..Duck eggs can be harder too detect..
