Fertile Tom??

Someone told me that I'll have to wait two years for my Tom to become fertile! My Narragansett poults are 7 weeks old so obviously I have a long wait. I'm just hoping I don't have to wait two years for hatching eggs! Does anyone have the answer? Is it really two years?!?

if the tom is young and breeding the hens they will lay all year i can get three sats a year
