He was hatched from a definite first ever laid egg by his mom, so far so good.
The larger egg lower left, is a second egg the other four visible are firsts, note the size.

His egg was very small and of course hes (it) very small, his peeps are very quiet, but otherwise seems normal, his sleep/wake cycles are few minutes in between, alert and active, not as active as some but I expect he's saving energy...

A question: so you have 5 first eggs from 5 separate hens, and the big egg is the 2nd egg of one of the hen? What a difference just between the 1st and 2nd egg!!!

Actually there is a dozen in there and all are firsts except 3 second eggs.

And you're welcome, I thought it would be interesting.

and yes, lots of my first eggs are tiny. I had a golden hen lay a 20 gram egg the other day
and shes on layer ration not the 30%.


PS. the "big egg" is smallish /normal size.

HE NEEDS A DRINKING NAME! And pictures where it is 100% clear it is a shot glass. I'm thinking stage a photo shoot and make him the next youtube sensation... Oh, and BTW, Thank you for doing this experiment. I think you have given me the courage to try hatching my "firsts" as well.
