Fertility Issues

You might have to get a roster that's a different breed.

Not sure why I would do that, they are pure Sumatra flocks. I have not heard many, if any people with Sumatra fertility issues. Obviously there can be a dud roo in any breed but I have got fertile eggs from both of these roos as I stated.

I would suggest sacrificing some eggs over the next several days - crack and examine the actual germinal disc....this will help to narrow whether it is a matter of the eggs not being fertilized or another issue causing a lack of development and help you to decide the best next step.

Ill have to look up the "germinal disk" idea. I have never heard of that. I will crack a couple open but what exactly am I looking for?

If they aren't fertile then maybe the roosters are stressed for some reason. I have heard about the fluff getting in the way of "the business" so my next question is, if the fluff is getting in the way, should I pluck or clip the feathers around the vents?
