If a roo successfully mounts and inseminates a hen, how many of her subsequent eggs will be fertile? Is it just the next one she lays, or the next few?

When a hen is mounted, she will collect the sperm and store it for, what I've always heard, about 2-3 weeks. Of course, you shouldn't expect one doing to be what fertilizes them, though. I usually expose the hen for a day or two, then get the eggs. Even if the roo is gone, you should get fertile ones for more than a week.
