So you know I have been on like a sort of hatching mission for about 3 weeks, and was wondering if a chickens first eggs can be fertile I'm happy to provide more info if needed. They are in the incubator and I saw when candling what I think is an embryo and an air cell is there a chance they are fertile or am I seeing things?
Yes, the first eggs can be fertile if you have a rooster with your pullets. Usually it is not recommend to incubate the first eggs until the hen or pullet has been laying for about one month. This does not mean that you can’t successfully hatch them. Good luck and Welcome to BYC!
