Fertilized Bullseye Genetic?

Hi all,
I've been in contact with the hatchery with pictures of my EE's trying to 'out' my suspected Rooster. I sent them my picture of the bullseye 'fertilized' egg and they said that some chickens have a Genetic trait that makes the egg appear fertilized when it actually isn't?
So it is possible that I have NO roosters.
Has anyone here ever heard of such a thing?
Not that I'd don't trust the hatchery!

Still no crowing or mating...

Have you posted any pics of the birds here yet? I think the people here would be able to help you determine if you have any roosters.

Never heard of that, either. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but maybe someone else can chime in. In all my vast research, never came across that tidbit. Diana, ever hear of this?

how many FERTILIZED eggs are you getting a day? If its only one I could believe that, but if all are appearing fertilized I would think, you probably have a roo. Or else you have a bunch of EE's with the same genetic trait.

I'd be interested in seeing the "roo" and the fertile egg spot. I have heard of hermaphrodites in other animals, but not chickens.

Jody, she did post the bullseye and it sure does appear fertile.

I've got 4 Wheaten Like 'EE's' but she was hiding out somewhere....but she looks just like the other 3.
