Fertilized egg?

I’m so confused. I swear they are all hens. I was so shocked when i saw the eggs that looked fertilized.
The only one who could be a cockerel is a Silkie and they are impossible to figure out. I even thought that one layed an egg but i might be confused since i only have two silkies and they look so much alike. So confused ‍

Ok. I’ll try to do that tonight. I’m hoping that somehow they look fertilized but they actually aren’t. Ha! Don’t really want a rooster...

That can happen...I can't remember the term for it....second might be an example, but first has a pretty distinctive ring.

Sometimes the blastodisc in an older egg will expand and appear fertile. How old are those eggs?

These eggs are no older than 3 days. I collect eggs twice a day and only have 8 chickens.

No crowing yet. I have had them all since one day old. They are now 6 months old. I haven’t lost any of them. I adore these damn chickens and spend tons of time with them. I have seen ALL of them in nest boxes but i guess one is trying to fool me. Ha!

Nope. Unfortunately they can not free range. They are in a very large covered run. Nothing could get in with them plus we are the only house with chickens for miles! First in our neighborhood to have them.
I’m going to guess that the one egg that definitely looked fertilized is just a weird egg and not fertile at all. ‍
