Am I nuts? Is this a little fertilization bullseye? This would be incredibly shocking to me, considering I own no roosters… 😂

I don't think so. I see the darker ring but not the white bullseye I expect. I'm not an expert though.

but self fertilization known as parthenogenesis is a thing in the avian world, including chickens.. See following link for more basic info..

(still kinda shocking)

I can't tell if it an actual bullseye or not. But even if it is:

--Several people on here have found bullseyes when they have no roosters. It might just be one of those weird things that happen with chickens.

--Or it could mean there is a rooster you didn't realize, either one of your own birds or one that comes visiting.

--If you get eggs like this regularly, and are really curious, you could try incubating them and see if they develop. If a chick does grow, that certainly proves something (either stealth rooster, or parthenogenesis. Yes, there are scientifically-documented cases of parthenogenesis in turkeys, chickens, I think quail, and probably some other birds as well. Appparently most of them die at an early stage of incubation, with none or very few making it to actual hatching.)
