If you didn't know what to look for to tell a fertilized egg from a non fertilized one you'd never know the difference!!

Fertile eggs could be "sat on" for a day or two and still be perfectly fine to eat.

Pick them up every day and pop them in the refrigerator. You won't be able to tell any difference. If you find any that you aren't sure about the age, just candle them, to see if there's been any development.
