How long after the eggs are laid do they keep if you plan on hatching them?

OMG guys is she brooding? well is she broody? i caught her sitting on the eggs all day....but at night she's sleeps on a stick with the other hens, and not in nest with the eggs. is she broody, and is it normal for the hens to lay during the day and not at night?

If she is a real broody she will stay on the eggs all the time.

so why did she lay in the nest all day?

I have a hen that is always in the nest box, but she never stays in it at night. She is just goofy.
A broody will not leave the nest except to get a bite to eat and go poop.
