My duck waddled to the coop Monday night with a cut on her leg. I didn’t realize the extent. Tuesday morning I brought her to the house and put silver salve for animals on it. I realized Tuesday night it was hot to the touch. I have progressed with doing polysporin and a prescription antibacterial. It is not as hot to the touch, but it is not normal temp. Do I give her antibiotic orally? If so, how much? Would love your feedback.

Is the cut itself healing and looking okay? Generally if the cut visually looks better and the surface heat is going away the body has fought off what it needed to and is starting to go off the defense.

That’s what I was thinking too, I just didn’t want to neglect something that needed attention.
