Hello everyone, I have been reading a lot on here. I have a few questions I just startered raising chickens I have 2 Rhode island hens which were free range and are now in a coop and I think are bored. I do plan on doing free range 4 times a week all day, and again when I get home from work do you think that will be okay for them? Also has anyone used a horse electric fence for predators? I let them free range tonight and they loved it, they went right back in the coop at dusk. Thanks for the help.

Depending on the predators in your area, I would just free-range them only when you are at home. Maybe a larger run is the situation.

If you get a rooster, they could free-range all day every day. I have no problems with predators, I have roosters, and I live out in the country. Just close them up at night. But if you have any day-time predators other than hawks, then a rooster won't work, and you should free-range them when you are home.
Good luck!
