MA-Redhen 27 lost. I think they must have gotten shook up-no air cell.
I feel bad because I know you wanted to see what hatched but there are still 2 I think left of yours that looked ok. I think the po had a field day with some of these eggs!

MO-Karan lost 12 Rouen, 5 Cuckoo Maran, 2 BO/Frazzle
KS-Justhatchin Lost 1 Muscovy
FL-Smom1976 lost 14

MO-Fudgie lost 7 calls, 1 silkie, 10 ducks(not fertile)
82 more loss for a total of 213 loss out of over 600( I need to get an accurate count of how many we started with)

I still feel we are doing good for how many we have started with and how we are doing for the first time big hatch! It is amazing to me that eggs can travel so far and hatch and other eggs can travel just as far away and nothing. Then eggs that are hand delivered or collected can do nothing like mine and Karans! SO it is not just the PO that affects these eggs, it is just the way the egg is and whether or not it has it to hatch or even develop. These last ones passed the first development check but did not pass the second time. Exception was Karan and Shelly's theirs is the first time check. Anyway, some are making it! Keep our fingers crossed!

Well, Jen, all things said and done, I think you are doing pretty well considering how far some of those eggs traveled and who knows how they were handled and the various conditions they encountered.

This is all just so very interesting and it makes me proud to have been a part of it

I am sorry for the losses , but as shipping and the temps and that is just how some things go. Sad but true

Even though ours were hand delivered this is the first time to see if these birds are producing hatch able eggs, and we wondered if some had gotten too cold before we got them in from the duck shed or the coop. So I am still not disappointed 17 out of 50 is not so bad so far. And this is a wonderful learning experence

Well, a least for me it wasn't all of them! But it was most!! That is so crazy!! I'm thinking these eggs just don't handle shipping very well. It doesn't seem like anyone gets good hatches from them!

Bockbock, if I have not posted the losses they are still going strong. karan and Shelley and Red hen, I am not opposed to doing a test hatch again for you guys. I am thinking the week both of yours came it was severly cold. Shelley, some of yours had a blood ring but a lot of them did not have an air cell same as redhen! I am thinking the post office guys just had a field day with them. I would like to try a hatch with you guys just marking fragile on the box and do not xray and see how it works.

Here are the newest chicks and quail. I took them in a rush this morning so I am sorry for the bluriness. I will try to take better ones tonight. Monarch and Ak_button_mama I tried to get pics of the little guys. I am thinking Monarch yours is the third picture, it is smaller than the other 3 courtnix. I could be wrong! Teach, I could send you those guys if you think they could make it!
