FFA member looking for a light weight duck in Florida

Well it depends on if you are trying to find people in that area selling you ducks, or if you are trying to just get breed information, etc?

A lot of people will say locally adjusted animals do better in that environment. This can be true, but doesn't mean you can't try things.

Look forward to your reply, so we can help you more.

Hi,
I am looking for a duck to buy that is grown up so that it can live with the rest of the ducks at my school.

That's nice. You could do that.

You may also want to be careful mixing new ducks together the first few days. They do better getting introduced slowly over time in bits, to get used to each other without aggression.

But you can mix ducks together if you're careful.

Let us know if you have any other questions. Wish you luck.

(If its at school, how will they get fed on weekends?)

Hi,
Thank you for helping me with this adventure, you have been amazing!
I also wanted to say thank you for the tips about mixing the ducks together. Me and my advisor talked and we are planning to cut out a portion of the area we have the ducks currently in and put our new duck in their so the other ducks can see the new duck but they can't actually get to her. We were also planning on letting them out in an open area time to time so they can all slowly get used to each other.
To answer your question about the weekends, we have a padlock on our gate so that we can get in on the weekends to take care of our birds.

That should work. Its a good plan, especially if they can see each other and get used to each other. You can then do chaperoned joint time that you slowly increase over time.
