I just started letting my 2 1/2 month old peachicks freerange and thus far they've stayed in coop and run. Tonight however, first one, then two, then three flew up onto roof of coop at dusk instead of going in coop to roost.

I swear I heard "If I were a rich man" playing in background.

Yes they did but since they are only 2 1/2 months old and it's getting cool here at nights I thought I needed to get them down. Couldn't figure out how to do it. The coop roof is really high. So I thought I would spray them with water and surely they would fly down. No such luck. I really soaked them and still they wouldn't come down. Finally had to go get a 14' ladder and climb to very top of it and go up there and get them down - dry them off - and put them in hutch with heat lamp.

It's going to be really interesting raising peafowl - they can really fly. They flew straight up there from the ground.
