Last night hubby found a field mouse in the garage trying to jump out of a rubbermaid container. Called me in there and asked, "Can we give that to the girls?" I grabbed a jar and proceeded to round the bugger up and left it on top of my freezer. This morning I take the nearly frozen ball of fur (it got down to 24 last night) out to the girls. Once the thing moved it was an all out free for all!!! Even better than the lizards and geckos that have been thrown in. There was even a tug of war with the 4 bigger girls at the same time over it at one point. I think this was the best breakfast treat yet! Red still jumped up and landed in the trimmings bowl in my hand after the party was done, I guess she was ready for her salad then So they did get potato peelings, tomato seeds and peelings, bell pepper trimmings and seeds and cabbage leaves in addition to their mouse. The 8 week olds in the separate run watched the whole thing in a state of awe. Didn't hear a single peep until Red jumped in the bowl.
