I have seen full-grown dyed silkies on Craigs this Easter. Poor silkiesI have been seeing these for sale on craigslist... poor things.
(I mean I'm sure they miss that snowy white fluff of theirs)

I feel like dying them is not humane, and they get thrown away because people dont realize how much work chickens are to take care ofI have never heard of Easter chicks being illegal. Dying a chick a color does not harm it if you use proper dyes. And lost of people naturally buy Chris around Easter since it's warner than early spring
rooster also get abandoned on the side of the road if they cant keep it.But dying them is not inhumane. It doesn't hurt them or cause them difficulty living just because they're a pink or blue chick. It can be quite useful even when sorting chicks
And people that don't realize they're a lot of work buy them even unrelated to Easter

That isn't just because of "Easter chicks"I feel like they deserve better to be left on a side of a road to starve or be killed by predators.
yes, but this is also part of the reason. That isn't just because of "Easter chicks"
It's really a complicated thing. There is no "solution" to this issue. I don't think people will really care about this either.Yeah, or they don't want to deal with the emotional stress of killing it. They'd rather it die a painful death on the side of the road.
