I don't get it Dx Pudgy (6 month old quail) was cuddling with Pidgy (1 week old chick) last night but this morning I saw Pudgy chasing her out of her water and food dish, I dunno what's wrong, Their cage is 4 Sq ft and they have a igloo to hide in which the chick seems to love for her naps since pudgy never uses it unless she laying her eggs other than that she likes to get ontop it and look outside the window, Is pudgy trying to show domince to her or is she showing signs of aggression, I sperated pudgy before i went to work which was about 8 hours sperated and I put her back but she chased her again but I think that's because they were kinda stuck in the corner and she was like "MOVE D:<!"

That's a really big age/size difference. And if the 1 week old is a chicken, I would keep them apart. Not to mention the 1 week old will need heat not matter what kind of fowl it is!
It could be dominance, could be the size difference, or the different species aren't getting along.
What ever the cause, I wouldn't keep them together anymore.
I hope you find a solution!

No their both quail of the same species the chick has her adult feathers coming in so she's off the heat lamp for now and my room is a constant 72-78 degrees she doesnt shiver and she's alert and active (Both are Coturnix) I read that with quails that aren't mature yet and put with other adults they will pick on the little one so I will keep them sperate until she is 6 weeks old maybe 7 and the chick is in the main big cage and pudgy is in the carrier just above her so they can hear eachother Pudgy is good with handling I even let her sit in my pocket in my shirt and she just snuggles down and sleeps I wonder if she only wants attention from me but I need another quail for the eggs since my pickling recipe is popular with my friends and family, I leave them sperated and keep them posted

My best guess then is just an intigration spat. I'd let the little one grow up more so it can defend itself because once they are out together again, it'll start over with the fussing and pecking. But only for a little while. I believe it's because they aren't born from the same clutch.

Yeah I think it's that too because I originally had 4 quails but 3 were pecking Pudgy's eyes so I let the rest go in my yard (I still get eggs!) They were wild and couldn't be tamed always hitting their heads on the roof whenever i went to feed them/walk by them ,except pudgy so i kept her as a pet.

Poor girl! Hopefully the small one will grow into a friend for her!
In the meantime I would do what you are doing now. And keep them so they can see and hear each other, but not harm themselves. The visual of each other everyday will help the integration too when the little one Is big enough to join her.

Yeah I just gave the little one some sand in a bowl and she's loving it something to help her relieve some stress xD

Aww! I hope it works out for them!
I just got my first brood of quail yesterday! I've had chickens for a while, but I'm excited to see how much fun quail are!

Adults and chicks should be separated until the chicks are of nearly equal size.
At 1 week your 6 month old will hurt or kill it pretty quickly.

Fortunately they grow fast so separation won't be for long

At one week old that chick still needs a heat source around 85 to 90 degrees. I would separate them before something bad happens, that's a really big age and size difference.
