I've been meaning to post and ask whether it was okay for my chickens to have figs, but it's a little late now. When I was following them around out in the garden today I noticed some of the figs were getting ripe, so I decided why not?
First time I've ever felt like I was being attacked by my chickens!

So, ummmm...nevermind.

Gimme! I grew up eating homemade fig preserves. We used to hide under the humongous fig bushes on the side of the house as kids. Now, where I live, they just do not grow well, try as I might.

I just bought some California figs at the grocery store. They were delicious but cost about .50 a piece! OUCH!

So what you're telling me is that my chickens just had a meal worth about five bucks?

I can't get my kids to eat our figs so every year the "wild" birds and ants do....not this summer...my pullets loved them!

I would eat the figs before the chickens got them!

I have 3 fig trees I planted last year. I am waiting with a watering mouth for them to produce buckets of fruit!
