filthy hatching eggs from eBay

Won some Serama eggs from eBay. They were well wrapped and packed but they are covered in poop. Can I clean these off some? Never had any this bad before. Someone said spray with peroxide to disinfect them. I know we don't wash hatching eggs but Wow.

Do you have a picture that shows how dirty they are? If they're completely soiled I probably wouldn't set them.

I would dispute the sale thru ebay.
If not, and they only have some poop. Use very fine sand paper to remove the poop. Do not get them wet.

Better to see them take a damp paper towel or several with warm water gently rub them then let them sit a full day warm area then incubate them or put them under a broody then

We run misters on hot days, when we do that we get MUDDY eggs. If it's big chunks of mud, I take a butter knife and gently scrape the shell. It's gets the worst of the mud off. I wouldn't wash them though. Maybe a warm papertowel to wipe them carefully, but I don't like to submerge them. Take lots of photos and document what you do, and let the seller know how you feel.
