Still separated today....I'm wondering why, too, but both are up and walking around so it must not be too bad.

It say's she (Fancy) has mastitis. Poor girl.

Sorry for not updating. its been crazy here we almost lost gigi on saturday due to me not noticing Fancy having mastitis severly. fancys milk was poisening the baby and now they have to be seperated so the filly cant nurse. we are bottle feeding gigi and hoping for the best.im exhausted mentaly and phsyically . i Fear that we may still loose gigi. we are feeding gigi goats milk every 2-3 hours. we are trying to prevent fancy from getting too upset so we arent turning her outside quite yet, we are afraid she may colic if we seperate her.

Thanks for the update, I'm pulling for them! I try to check in as often as possible, they seem to be taking it fairly well, and Gigi seems less wobbly then she did the first time I saw they'd been separated.

i think that fancy knows that somethings wrong so she isnt too upset as long as she can see the baby. Gigi is definatly better than what she was when we first seperated them.as gigi grows i will have to eventually let fancy outside so gigi can have the stall to run and play a bit.
Fancy will be retired from breeding and will go to a retirement home as soon as she is healthy and past all danger of infection.

gigi is improving every time i go in the stall! im loving how she is now playing again a little. i think she may be out of the woods now, fancys milk is still blood and she isnt producing as much. gigi will most likley be a bottle baby untill she is old enough to wean
