Here's my small flock of 5 Australorps. I've been looking high and low for these guys for over 3 years now.

I finally managed to get these from a breeder who brought fertilised eggs back from Melbourne and bred from that.

They're here with the hopes of eggs and eventually meat, hence my choice of a heritage breed.

We've got names for the flock, now that we spent over 4 months observing them.

Introducing:
👑Basileus 'Basil' - our main rooster. The kind, gentle king of his domain.

🦅Eagle - because she looks like one. Piercing yellow gaze, and conspicuously missing her comb and wattles.

👸Jane Grey - the only blue Australorp hen. They're called blue, but they are actually grey. She's the matriarch.

🏎️💨Speedy - the backup rooster. Lame in the left leg due to a bad ankle joint, but runs the fastest when there's food. How? Pure greed.

🧗Tenzing - named after the famous mountaineer because she loves shoulder rides.
