FINALLY figured it out!

That's one thing my broody didn't do she didn't poo in her nest but she has a decent size enclosure and had a seperate nest area but she she did poo i swore one of my dogs did it i had never seen something that big come out of a hen so small and her area was covered in shavings and i would clean it twice a day with a kitty litter scoop which works wonderfully

Chickens poo all the time, so its like stored up luquid to save space, rotten chicken poop

Imagine, as bad as chicken poo is anyway, them waiting 24 hours or more to go. That's why it's so GROSS! I figured out soon (but only because of BYC) to pull mine off the nest and make her "go" and eat at least once a day. My gosh, baseball sized bunches of ... EEEWWWW

our girl Dobby went broody on us wed. Mom had to shove her butt out of the way to get the egg from her nest. Oh dobbers, you're so funny sometimes.
