In my defense: we have tried everything: bribery, cajoling, yelling, begging, treats, clicker training, and more!

DBF is working on some gas pipes for the house, so we've got a spray bottle filled with soapy water. Those darn dogs bark CONSTANTLY. Well tonight they got sprayed. That shut them up. Now I've got a legal, safe, and cheap tool in my belt to make them shut their yap traps.

Finally.

#1California Chick :

Add a little ammonia to the spray bottle!!! They won't come anywhere near your yard!!!

Good Luck!!

Cindy

I hope you mean spraying the owners with the ammonia. It's not the dogs fault, they're probably just trying to make someone pay attention to them. Either way, thats a really bad idea.

I feel your pain. My neighbors have 6 nasty chichuaua dogs and 4 big dogs and they all bark at me and our kids all the time. I don't think they'd be too happy if I started spraying their dogs - the husband works in the yard a lot. Someone told me about those anti-barking devices that you plug in - do they work?

We ended a friendly relationship with neighbors in the past after they bought a dog and did NOTHING to stop his constant barking. We couldn't even go outside and enjoy our backyard because the dog would just not stop.

What really ticked me off was when the neighbors were out WITH the dog and STILL wouldn't get it to stop.

I'll never understand how someone cannot see the rudeness in that. It's not my dog, so why should I have to deal with his behaviors in what's supposed to be the sanctuary of my own yard?
