if it makes u feel any better i have an 8 yr old that wont shutup! he hangs outside the front of my house calling out to me.. if i dont answer then hell call out to my daughter...all the while my dog...who we bought specifically to guard our house....is doing his job and barking at the intruder at our fence...i tell him to go home so he does...he goes and gets his little dog, lets it go so it can terrorise my chicks out the back, and then calls out that i have to get his dog...then my daughter wants to go play with him, but my mothers instinct kicks in then...i feel somethings not right about this kid...so she cries cuz she cant go out, my dog barks cuz he wont go home and when i tell him to go home he just says no and literally sits at our front gate...ive caught him a few times trying to sneak in which is a problem cuz if our dog decides to do his job hell attack..thats what we got him for cuz my partner was doing night work...lucky for the kid my dog is friendly with kids...they can come in our yard no prob...any adults though...but still ive told him not to come in...what if my dog attacks him? hes only doing his job and ive told the kids numerous times to piss off!!
id rather listen to a dog bark then go through that most days!
can i spray the kid with a high powered hose? just strong enough itll send him across the road back home? or is that filed under abuse?

G'day! I'd have a polite talk with his parents, they may not even know what is going on. If that did not work, I'd call the cops (trespassing) or the Aussie version of child protective services. I'll bet your instincts are dead on, something is not right, that kid is acting out for a reason. As far as the dog is concerned (the kid's), you might try dusting the birds with some crushed chilies. One nose and mouthful and the dog won't come back for seconds. Shouldn't bother the birds, I've read that birds don't taste spicy like we do, and I've seen enough of them gulp chilies down to believe it.

the dog doesnt hurt them...just chases them round scaring them...shes smaller then them!! lol but no she never attacks them...as for the kid...his mum doesnt pay much attention...she knows he roams the streets...and he does it cuz hes lonely and desperately needs attention...the instinct that kicks in is cuz he does odd things at times....only 2 reasons for it...1 its happened to him, or 2 its completely innocent and he has bad social skills...prolly the latter but why risk it...for example he was at our front gate...it was open cuz we had ppl over trying to buy our car...i told him to go home and he said no...then we need to sell the car so we can get a new 1 b4 bub is born...anywho he crouched down and asked my daughter to sit on his lap....i found it a little odd...so i gave him my dirtiest disapproving mother look and he changed his tune..then they sat cross-legged playing with his dog..then he started tickling the inside of her legs playing insy-winsy spider...that kinda did it for me so i hoicked her up and told her to go inside...big tantrum from her...my partner pulls up (they went for a test drive) 2 sec later and the boy and the other ppls kids ran off to play...i didnt feel it was a good situation for her to be in and i dont want her to be around him ever!! but back to before...yeah the mum knows that hes roaming annoying ppl...the ppl next to them he started doing that too...actually went into their house like he owned it till they complained to her...they have no fence...so now hes starting on us...hmm i might tell her the dogs something vicious and untrustworthy so if he comes in its not our fault...but then thats lieing..hmm whats a breed that ppl dont like? hes black with tan face/belly/legs...and very solid and large...i really dont want to start a street brawl...but its such a fine line...so we know how to handle annoying dogs...but what about annoying kids? a spray bottle WITH chilli water in it! yesss sounds good to me!! if ur gunna have kids and pets...bloody well look after the bastards! if u dont want them dont have them!

Folks I have cleaned this up for the flaming. Thanks to all that participated according to the rules. As it was an informational post on a successful problem resolution and has been discussed I think we are done here.

Jenn good for you for finding a humane, effective easy way to deal with this. Hope it continues to work.
