Looks like a nice area. Do you not have to worry about aerial predators? Yesterday I had my girls out in the open run while I cleaned nearby - in less than 30 min a huge hawk was circling overhead. I haven't seen one since the fall. They migrate in the spring and fall - so I imagine it was very hungry.

I've been on close watch while they are out in the run. Haven't seen any aerial preditors but I'm sure they are around. I plan on taking some precaution. I'll upload some more pics soon.

The inside of the coop is roughly 8x8. Chicken wire is ran up all walls and along the floor to keep digging preditors out. Two walls are made up of existing fence, one is the side of my house, and the front wall is framed with pressure treated 2x4 and fence pickets. The roof is coregated metal from homedepot. Everything is attached to the fence with exterior grade 3" screws. Nothing is attached to the house. To keep the wall from sinking down I sink some post into the ground and attached the wall to them near the house. I am very new to chicken raising but have experience in construction and being impulsive so that's how all this came about. I have read alot about raising them on this forum prior to purchasing 6 chickens (about 2 months old). I've had them about 2 weeks now and they are awesome. But the poop though!! Lol If anyone has advice or questions let me know. Thanks for the comments.
