I've been cussing my araucanas as dead beats for quite awhile now. I never was any good on easter egg hunts. Glad to see some things never change.LOL Found 15 eggs. They have been quite busy. I must of took a hundred pics. Still couldn't get a pic that shows the real color better.

    Silly chicken!

Try taking the picture outside, in indirect sunlight, with the eggs on a contrasting color--like the red bowl or a medium green towel. Then you'll get that avatar-worthy pic.

Make sure you adjust the white balance when you go outside in the indirect light. Most digital cameras have an 'auto' adjust that works fine.

Oh - and more of the good-fer-nuttin' ladies please!

The little sneaks were hiding them in what I thought was a closed box in the garage. Re-charging camera batteries right now. So I'll try and get more pics up tommorrow of hens and the 2 roos I have. Maybe the sun will be out for an egg shot too.

Better color on the eggs anyway. Still not showing exactly true.

And some more of the girls. Look real close at the girl in first 2 pics . You can see her tuft. Taking pics of black chickens is quite the chore. Especially when they think the camera is going to eat them.
