After much research on BYC for designs & expert input, we finally have begun the building of our chicken coop. It is going to be a large "tractor' model, 7x4 for 8 chickens. The run, which we have not started is going to be modular in design & mobile, too.
It took better than a week to gather our thoughts, draw up the plans on paper, purchase the lumber, & get started with the building. Our babies are 5 weeks old today & love being outdoors. So it is necessary to get this done ASAP. (Plus I want to give them time to really acclimate to the outdoor temps before it gets too cold.)
Here are a few pics of our progress. It sure does help to have a Hubby who is construction minded & is "indulgent" to his crazy wife.
