Finally gave in and became a member!

Thank you guys! . . Now, I have two black Australorps, two EE's, two Golden Comets, and one Barred rock. I get three eggs a day from the older three and one just laid a jumbo double yoker.
You're welcome. You have some very good layers. Golden Comets are one of many labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links, and they are egg laying machines. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed; extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children, and now my granddaughter, made lap pets of ours), and excellent layers of large, brown eggs. The EEs are my granddaughter's favorite hens. She loves their colored eggs. Good luck in getting lots more eggs.

Welcome to BYC - time spent with our flocks and animals can be therapeutic.

I love all of them. I haven't actually picked a favorite yet. The barred rock is always up for being carried around by my little ones and the GC's are always underfoot looking for treats. Haha.

I never thought chickens could actually become a "habit" per se. I love them to death.

I have my favorites, but I love all my chickens as well.
