Finally got a sump pump!

...and oh my goodness, I had no idea how fast it could drain out 35 gallons!! My poor ducks got so scared because at first the water shot the hose off and made a probably 6 foot geyser! Good thing I had an extra C-clamp to hold it on. Now my ducks are enjoying their easily-cleaned pond!

Here's a true sump pump story that's interesting .years ago in Southern California a man lived in an upscale subdivision. he loved to go garage sales. one day he found a sump pump at a garage sale. people laughed at him . why do you need a sump pump? we don't have floods in the desert. but he took it home and put it in his garage.
couple years later a wildfire came roaring through their neighborhood. thinking quickly, he attached a hose to the sump pump and threw it in their swimming pool . he climbed up onto his roof ,watered down his wood shingles and saved his house ...and half of the roof of the house next to him. nobody laughed at him anymore. Best ,

What a cool story!! Well now I will have this in mind if I ever have to save my house- but I don't imagine 40 gallons would do me much good... hahaha
