Finally got my FIRST double youlker - and didn't take a pic! LOL

About 2 weeks ago I got a big egg from a BO girl and thought it would be a double, nope.
So today I got another one.
We're not talking huge, I mean it fit in the carton, just bigger than my Leghorn's eggs.
Anyway, it was a double! My first double yolker in over a year of chicken keeping! lol

hahaha Mine just started to lay and today I opened 8 of my mint eggs... 5 were doubles.
And I didn't take a picture either!

I love double yolkers! They are the greatest!!! So much fun to fry up.

congrats! The first time I ever heard of a double yolker was on"LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE" ~ Mean old Mrs> Olsen was charging customers extra for the double yolkers, then not paying Mrs Ingles any wxtra for those same eggs! I have one friend tha has a hen laying double yolkers occasionally.

The double yolker that I got wasn't quite as big as this baby that I got today!!!!!
Not sure if it's the same hen doing them (third big egg now, though the first only had one yolk which is why I wasn't all excited about the second--which DID have a double! lol)
but I do know that it is one of the two Buff Orpington pullets from last fall's hatch.

That's a "grade A Large" Leghorn egg on the right thar......
