Well they did freak a little when they saw the board. They ran in their house and one, the Campbell if I remember right flew right over it to the far side. That was perfect, in the morning I had one egg on each side of the board. And after that they still liked me as much as ever, they still follow me around.
The mystery as to why the runner (Chrissy) isn't laying has been solved. She is molting!!! I came home for lunch and it looked like someone had had a pillow fight in my back yard! LOL
Then I saw her preening and feathers were coming out like crazy.
Hi there. Looks like you solved who it was, but I just wanted add that I have runners from a hatchery and they lay white eggs. They look just like my Leghorn Chicken eggs. The only way I can tell 'em apart is the shell texture is different.
But my runners don't even look like runners sooo, lol, I don't know.

lol... even my hand raised human loving ducks would freak out. Esp if it was a blue board, lol... My ducks are afraid of anything big and blue.... (my fiance thinks that's why they like to spend so much time inside even when they are allowed to go outside at will, they are afriad of the sky...)
Ducks are soo funny... I can picture your Chrissy jumping desperatly over jack's head to avoid the board. lol
