I finally was able to get some peas- yeah!!! A nice woman became overwhelmed as her two india blues turned into 20 peafowl over a few years. She needed to downsize some as her neighbors were complaining.
My question is how long do I need to keep them locked up before I can try free ranging them? The oldest pea is 3 and the youngest is 9 months. I have a mature male, 2 mature females, and an immature male and female. They were used to running around on her property but her 2 acres wasn't big enough to keep them from bothering the neighbors. We are on 20 acres so I am hoping to keep them without bothering anyone as we don't have any close neighbors. I have free range turkeys and guineas that are fed twice daily and know the routine for chow time. All I need to do is yell...."TURKEY, TURKEY" and they all come running. My husband calls me the crazy turkey caller.
He thinks I am nuts. Oh well, who wants to be NORMAL anyways!!!!
Thanks,
Laura
