Well I have been trying since the summer on/off to sprout barley for the girls but it was so humid it kept going moldy. I had started a batch on Wednesday and decided to give it to them today before I went to work. I guess they like it cause the dish was empty when I got home this afternoon! I have a new batch started. I grow it in a mason jar and have the center part with plastic mesh so I can strain it. This time round I have been leaving it upside down in the dish rack for drainage and rinsing 4x/day and it seems to be working!!
