Finally have a chicken..... Now I have the questions!

I have found some great deals on older chickens at the various feed stores near my farm - usually they have some type of bulletin board with various postings on it. I would definitely check there for a chicken friend. They're very social, so I personally have never had a flock less than four (and now I have close to 60). Although I've heard of a lot of people having difficulty integrating new chickens into their flock, I've never had a problem myself. Usually I raise chicks in batches of 8 to 12, then introduce them all at once when they're 2 or 3 months old. That seems to work way better than introducing just one or two new chickens. If you just have room for one or two more, you should be okay if you get one that's roughly the same size. Breed doesn't matter, although some breeds are more aggressive than others, so I would maybe research that a bit first.
