Kathyinmo,
I wondered about the egg eating, but I have never seen a trace of it. No shells, no yolks, ever. They eat regular food, DuMor brand, from Tractor supply. I kept them on starter til around 12-16 weeks (can't remember exactly) then switched to finisher. My last flock was the same way. Some treats occasionally, but not very often. So I just don't know. I would think if they were eating eggs for any period of time I would eventually see some evidence. Like dried yolk or something. Or shell bits. I kind of think that with this one being laid in the run that it might have been a first egg. Also, it had obviously been rolled around in the mud some, but not pecked or anything. So I think if I had eaters they probably would have gotten this one since it was right out in the open and they were walking all around it. But I could be wrong. I am going to watch them closely. I did see a few others on here with Orps that took to about 30 weeks, but not sure about the PR's. I'll keep watching that though.
