FINALLY...I have chickens for the first time

Hi Cheapcheap...I'm new too and new to having a chicken. This one found me though last week. A wayward hen, go figure. I've rescued many different types of animals, but this is a first with a chicken. I was thinking of giving her away, but I like the idea of fresh eggs I can get from my back yard with such little effort. So not only did I decide to keep her, I just ordered another chicken.

Mine stopped laying when I brought them home. This could last a few days to a few weeks. THey'll lay again soon.

Well thanks all,
my new babies (as I call them) pullets are laying but not at the same time they have there own ideas for this and after all they are the ones doing it. So that is ok . Sometimes I have 3 eggs in the AM sometimes one in the morning and two in the afternoon. or all at night. But they only been here a week and seem to get along fine with me and are LOVING the snacks.

Mhy kids love the idea of going to check for breakfast before school. They Said " Mom we love the eggs never eating eggs fromthe store again."
