Finally Introducing Myself! :)

We got a snake because 1 they are adorable in our opinion :p and 2 he is actually surprisingly easy to take care of! All you really need to do is feed him (frozen then thawed rats/mice) every few weeks, give him water, occasionally help him shed, and clean his cage when it's dirty!
Before getting sun we had already known a lot about snakes, we had even pet sit our friend's snake and bearded dragon once!
There are a decent amount of things you will have to buy though, but doesn't that go the same for any other pets? Some main things we had to buy for Sun were a heat lamp, cage, hiding rocks, water bowl, climbing structure (ours is a branch), thermometer, and some other miscellaneous things. That may seem like a lot but it really isn't compared to some things. :D
I hope this answered your questions! :frow

You certainly have April, thank you. Some of the things for Sun sound like the things I have on my list for the tortoise. Does Sun need extra light? UVA\UVB or do snakes do ok without it? I have a list all ready for the tortoise here ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/tortoise-keepers.1280496/
But as you say in comparison to some things the list isn’t too bad. Not like Harry horse’s list which is always as long as my arm

Good! :thumbsup And yes snakes and most reptiles need a heat lamp. The main strategy snakes and lizards use to acquire heat is sunning. They find a sunny spot to bask in and absorb heat from the sun or heat lamp. Warm rocks or other surfaces also provide heat. They cool down by burrowing, exposing themselves to the wind or finding shade. :D
Tortoises will also need a good source of heat, ordinary light and a source of UVB light. This does two things; it provides a basking source for the tortoise and a source of UVB. Remember, tortoises are cold blooded and cannot regulate their physiological body temperature as we can.

I’m looking at a combination bulb for the tortoise. It provides the heat for basking and UVB light all in one. I’m trying not to have too much clutter as in wires etc so I’m hoping the combination will work well. Another thing I read was to put a flat rock under the substrate under the basking light so it provides heat from underneath too. I’m looking at possibly getting this table, it looks really neat! But with a mesh cover. My friend has a tortoise and it’s always climbing out of its table! Whilst her dog is good with the tortoise I’m not sure I could trust our crazy spaniels!

What do you want to do for a living? :pop
Hmmm, well i'm not completely sure on what i'm wanting to do yet but I am thinking about part time, hobbie, and side jobs. For one I was thinking it'd be smart/profitable decision to be a landlord. And for more hobbie-ish jobs I was thinking artist, hmmm and find a way to profit off social media (Instagram, youtube, etc) :)
