I've been on here for a while (well, a couple of months) and I've never gotten to introducing myself to y'all! So...here's this.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I got my first chicks at the end of May. It was kind of an impulse buy...we call them our "pandem-chicks". We were lucky to get five girls and now three of the chicks are laying (one started laying just yesterday! blue eggs!!!).
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have five chickens (we're only allowed to have six in my city).
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have Speckled Sussex (1), Barred Rock (1), Buff Orpington (1), and Easter Eggers (2).
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love seeing all of the different personalities and just hanging out with the chicks. The eggs sure are nice, too!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to sing and make crafts.
(6) Anything else you'd like to share?
I'm a proud cochin!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
When researching chicken stuff, I kept coming to this site, so I decided to join! Thank you everyone for being super welcoming and kind!
