I am from North Dakota and we have had a darn cold winter. Anyway I am going to raise chickens again. our house is on a one acre lot and the back yard goes into a tall grass field and then into the woods to the river. I used to be a builder and have an old one ton van like the bread trucks you see.. I am going to convert it for one of my coops as it is all aluminum inside and then the front has the big flat window. Should work good and I will take pics after warm weather hits and I get it done...then my other coop will be my 30 year old a frame play house I built for my daughter. the floor is total rot but I will use the roof and use pallets to build some sides for it. behind my 30x40 shop I have a large fenced it portion for my dogs and will separate in w one for dogs and one for chickens. and they will have access to the rest of the yard to range when we are out..
my chicks will arrive on march 20th from pulley poultry. 10 buff ops and 5 astrolups , 5 RIR. 5 salmon favrols, 5 gold laced wyodotes.. will keep 10-12 for eggs . then I will probably get another batch to butcher for October..
well just wanted to say and give some info...jeff
