(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes, I am very new to chickens. I placed an order in the middle of October 2020. I received 15.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Out of the 15 that I received, 1 passed away at the 2 week mark, but the rest seemed healthy and happy. And they are doing great today
(3) What breeds do you have? I have a couple buff orpingtons, a barred rock, several New Hampshire’s, and the rest are still unknown to my knowledge. I would love to find out.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Watching chickens be chickens haha. They are smart creatures with personality. I’m an animal lover by nature though. along with the chicken, I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a gecko, and a few fish. Soon to grow.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I enjoy hiking, hunting, raising my animals, trying new foods, and working in my shop tinkering.
(6) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found this website almost about a year ago. Doing research on coops, their sizes, organic feeds, what chickens do well in my area, ya know, the basics. I joined when I finally wanted to ask a question I saw on a post. So here I am and I love the community
