Hello all! I have been lurking on BYC website since firts getting my chickens 2 years ago. I finally decided to join in!
A little about me:
I got introduced to owning chickens when I rescued a chick from the school I work for. Unfortunately it died as it was handled so poorly by everybody. I mean, it's a baby chick! Everybody wants to touch them.LOL After that, I decided to get my own flock, I started with the 8 right away and it's my therapy.
I currently have 8 chickens (5 BuffOrpington and 3 Rhode Islan Red.
I recently got 2 bantams and I have no idea what breed they are.
Raising chickens have turned into a escape and therapy from my busy life. They are so interesting.
I live in the heat of Florida, so when I'm not at work I enjoy having some time with my husband, my chickens and my dogs (a chihuahua and a Shiba Inu)
I can't wait to know more about the community and everything that it involves raising chickens
