i had always wanted chickens too. i was so excited i could not sleep for 2 days before i went to pick them out !(and several nights after too!i was so worried about them

Congratulations! They are adorable! I am new to chickens as well, this forum has been such a life saver. If you are anything like me, when my girlies were that small I was on here searching frantically everytime they did something new. I was worried sick over them. The first time my little welsummer chick gave herself a dust bath in the pine shavings....I thought for sure She had a broken wing!

I don't know enough to make breed suggestions, but I can tell you for certain that they are all cute as can be!

They are so loveable, and grow so fast! Enjoy them!

I love the guesses, keep them coming. I seriously can't believe how cute they are. I didn't sleep the night before their arrival. When I picked them up the post office guy said "I've never heard such quiet chicks". I was scared and thought that meant that many were dead! He said they get a lot of chicks (I'm in a very rural area). Sure enough, I got them home, and they are SO QUIET! They are active and chirp, but are MUCH quieter than I expected! They sleep through the night without bothering me in the least. I'm sure they will get louder as they grow, but they seem to be.... so good! I love them so much. I wish "Oddball" (Mille de Fleur??) would come around, but otherwise they all seem to be so sweet!!

Isn't it great how they all have such distinct personalities so early on? My girls were really quiet, well behaved little chicks,too. They are a little more bossy now, but I still adore them!

Wanted chickens for years! Finally bought an old farm house and some land and now I have 8 babies as well. Congrats and they are so sweet looking, although I have no clue as to what they are.
