Hi there. That box the chicks are in is the final brooder box, it will eventually become the add on run to the coop I am building, it’s in the garage for now so the chicken wire will be just fine, however, when they move outside the run will be surrounded and covered by hardware cloth.Welcome. We did get a lot of rain to the point of flooding today, from Idalia. I love the hardware cloth on the open parts of your coop. You should add hardware cloth over the chicken wire in your run to ensure safety from predators. Also, do you know how to make a hardware cloth skirt? It is when you secure your hardware cloth on the bottom and then extend it out on the ground 18-24 inches around the perimeter - to prevent digging predators.

The pic of the duck house (the outdoor photo) has 6 inches of welded wire skirted around the bottom and bent outward to prevent diggers. I have all vents and openings covered by hardware cloth!
Thank you for the suggestions.
Hoping y’all dry off soon!
