a battery hen is one that spends her entire life in a battery of cages like they use in laying houses where they have 10 hens in a cage almost big enough for one.

The exact square foot/inch per bird is defiantly debatable, but I figure a foot, give or take an inch here or there. Of course, the more Flore space the better, but wire and wood come in specific lengths and widths.
